(De)Construction of Monuments

One of the most striking effects of the so-called post-communist transition, the one that is very often visible to the naked eye, is its impact on the urban space. We can regard these transformations as a sort of visual translation of many of the social and political phenomena of the post-communist condition. They make visible the ideological mutation a society has gone through after the fall of communism and reveal so the new hegemonies that have been established ever since. Moreover, they confront us with the impasses of our traditional understanding of urban space, of its social meanings and its normative dimensions. The implications of these changes are very often so drastic, that they put in question the fundamental values of modern society or even the very idea of society as such.

The research proposes to examine ways in which new, post-communist, post-conflict societies search their ways to re-define and express themselves in spatial ways. Seeking to understand how cultural memory is spatially erased and reinvented, I will examine the meaning of monuments throughout of history, especially concentrating on the countries of formal Yugoslavia and period of post-socialism.

Airport Unasana

Airport Unasana

Novoprojektovani aerodrom Bihać spada u red manjih aerodroma.

TCL Exhibition

TCL Exhibition Design

The challenge was to create consistent design language for different TCL product
families and design environments, to make public flow and interaction with products more richer and unpredictable. The home symbolism and association is the best element to communicate a story about TVs. TV is not a wearable tech and belongs naturally to home.

Different sections represent different product lines. Each space is unique and tells the story about design, picture quality, sound and most important offers a richer experience to visitors.

VW Extender

VW Extender

Vehicle combining concept of urban farming and food distribution in large mega-cities. Collaboration with German automotive industry giant VW, developing new concepts for Model T 2025.

Project name: VW Extender

Location: Urban Areas globally

Farming of the Future

Vertical farms are not science fictions anymore. The cost of transportation from remote areas and distribution in large megacities is getting inefficient and high cost. The question is how the distribution will look like in the future? I look in this scenario very carefully and try to design next generation of Volkswagen T-Model Van, serving needs of the Modern urban farmer.

Logistic

1. Driving cockpit combination with mobile office  2. Shop / Delivery. Storage space is accesable from outside to maximize volume 3. food waste storage

Delivery

The orders, alternatively the goods, get stored in certain drawers. Every drawer has its own address in the vehicle. The VW tab enables it to address and easily find them.

Shop

Shop section is designed to be practical to use. Good visibly, easy management and handling enable farmer o to easily take drovers out and fill them with vegetables. Customers can access and see Green products without barriers.

Mobile Office

During parking time driving cabine can transform to customer service and mobile office. For good driving experience is important to have not only the engine but also good seat. The seat is designed by ergonomic rules adaptable for driving and working.

The Pin

URBAN APPROACH
The surrounding of the Watertower shares the destiny of the industrial area in the surrounding – decadence and neglect. The area is defined by the low-density single-housing units, railroad structures, small-scale streets and one of the more important streets of town, one of three entrances to the town – Jablanska Street. In order to include the surrounding the tower, the „PIN“ is being approached from two sides, two ways intersecting in the tower, creating a gathering place and thus boosting the life of the area.

THE PIN
On the existing structure of the tower a simple sphere is being added, metaphorically creating a PIN, or PRIBADAČA, instantly marking the location, creating a landmark of the neglected surrounding. The PIN is universal symbol, putting the cultural scene of the town and region on the map, it is sort of physical manifestation of point of reference.

MEDIA PIN
The sphere, the PIN is made of steel construction with translucent material (for example ETFE membrane), armed with couple of beamers or LED diodes, which transforms the sphere into MEDIA PIN, big spherical display able to project any kind of artistic, marketing, textual content on it. It could display what is currently going on in the Pin Center, or it could be used for bringing out the statement about what is going on in the town, region or world. It can be combined with audio support, so it could host any kind of events, visual, musical or even commercial. It is a very interactive media, providing people possibility to display their messages, opinions, even marriage proposals. The MEDIA PIN itself represents a new way to exhibit art and to reach far more people (than are actually frequenting such places). The interior of the sphere provides a very particular spatial atmosphere, and could be used again for variety of the functions, like lecturing, exhibiting, beamer projections, or as the observation deck.

ADDITION
The structure of the water tower is being preserved, a new five-meter story is being added on the existing structure. The communication block (staircase and elevator) is being added on the northwestern side of the tower, rounded to formally fit the shape and to make the spaces inside of the tower clean, without any trespassing to other stories. The envelope of the communication tower is made of a transparent material, wires to make the contrast to the mass of the tower and to underline the industrial heritage of the tower and area. The ground floor is being opened towards the south and towards the intersection of the two approaching axes. The goal is to invite people into it, and to connect the PIN with the surrounding.

FUNCTION
The aim of the idea to create a frame for variety of possible activities, not to concentrate just to couple of them. We do this by creating different and flexible spaces, which can host all kind of different usages, with emphasize on cultural activities. Lectures, concerts, exhibitions, gatherings, events, courses, musical rehearsals, co-working spaces, meetings, bookshop, tourist observation deck, projections, concerts, art-fairs, food presentations, eco-summits. The parcel on which the tower is can be used hosting bigger events with the MEDIA PIN as huge display inviting the people and providing the visual support.
